Thrifty Doll Finds for American Girl dolls

Over the past few months I have found some thrifty items for the 18 inch dolls such as American Girl dolls.

First item to show is the awesome paper clip holder I got at Target store.

 This was the most expensive item - $10 but well worth it.

Wouldn't you agree it was worth purchasing for the dolls?

Here is the mirco go and throw tooth brushes that I found at Dollar Tree (4 pack for one dollar) and they fit perfectly in the hand of the AG doll.

Here are the soda cans  and punch drings (actually lip balm containers) that work great for the AG dolls. They were on clearance at Walmart right after Christmas.  I think I only paid $2.40 for the 4 pack of sodas and $2.40 for the three cans of punch.

Here are two "gift bags" that make great doll purses that I got at Wal-mart for only 50 cents each.

 

Another 50 cent find is the Gum Ball Machine that is perfect size for the American Girl doll or other 18 inch dolls

 

Here are some shoes that were from My Life collection at Wal-Mart for $2.00 each

Roller Skates - they actually work great.

  Pink Cowboy boots and pink roller blades - cool huh!

 

The doll tiaras found at Wal-Mart in the party prize selection 4-pack for a dollar and they come in 4 different colors.

Denim Jackets for the AmericanGirl Doll's

I recently had a request for two custom denim jackets - dark and light colored denim jackets on my Etsy site.  I had already purchased the jacket pattern from Liberty Jane/Pixie Faire site.

The "Mountain Dew" bottles in photos are a thrifty find at local Wal-Mart store.  They are actually lip balm containers which makes perfect size for doll drink.

I have only been sewing for almost two years and I love sewing. I call it my cotton therapy.  I still have a lot to learn and I truly enjoy sewing doll clothes for the 18 inch American Girl dolls and I have started recently sewing for the 15 inch doll - Itty Bitty twins.

Ballerina Bedding for Isabelle - girl of the year

Awhile back I found some beautiful fabric with ballerina's posing in different positions. Shimmering purple fabric with pink leotards and ballerina slippers. I paired it up with some pink and purple fabrics that also have the shimmering pattern throughout the fabric.  I used Sew Urban four piece bedding set to make this set.

Isabelle sews and designs clothing also.  Target sells Our Generation  toys for the 18 inch doll and they sell Our Generation sewing dressmaker that has a sewing machine, pattern, sewing box, garment bag, sewing notions iron, ironing board that is the perfect size for the American Girl doll or any 18 inch doll.

Isabelle first day at school

I couldn't wait until January 1st to purchase the American Girl of the Year 2014 Isabelle Palmer.  I awoke at 5 am and in a few minutes had purchased her. She arrived on January 6th.

She is absolutely beautiful.  My granddaughters loved her.  Since Isabelle Palmer story is about - moving to a new school I thought what a great idea to do a photo shoot on a school scene.  Here is Isabelle meeting new friends at her school.

 

 Isabelle is sharing her story with the class of how she loves ballerina and sewing.

 

 

I will be sewing some new clothes for Isabelle and for my Etsy store - GiGi's Doll Creations to sell.
